'Heavy Metal' is one of the most upright varieties of Panicum, boasting very stiff, metallic blue foliage that can hold its striking vertical form without flopping over. Its dramatic color and habit make it a perfect backdrop plant for shorter grasses and perennials. Airy, pinkish colored panicles form cloud-like tufts above the foliage in summer and the seed heads attract birds to the yard all winter long.
