Viking Aronia Berry

$44.99

400700118

Developed from the North American native species, Viking is an open, upright, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with multi-seasonal interest. Clusters of 5-petaled fragrant white flowers appear in early spring and provide nectar to butterflies and pollinators. The glossy, oval, dark green leaves turn a superb red in the fall. Large black berries develop from the flowers and persist through the winter, providing food for birds and wildlife. Tolerant of wet soils, it is a good choice for rain gardens and the edges of ponds. Also effective for erosion control due to its ability to spread by suckering.
