This houseplant, also known as Flamingo Flower, has simple, large dark green leaves growing from long stalks. The heart-shaped flowers, or spathes, comes in a variety of colors including white, pink, red, yellow and coral. It prefers bright indirect light and higher humidity, so misting is beneficial. Water to keep the soil slightly moist but not soggy. It is mildly to severely toxic to pets and children if ingested in large quantities.
